I was at camp, and got a text from Seamus saying they just had an earthquake. I thought it was weird. Then my dad called and said the house shook, and I was confused because I thought I missed it. Turns out it happened while we were outside with the kids- they were swimming in the river. Then I realized I did feel dizzy at one point and had a weird thought that it was like I could feel the Earth moving. I mentioned that later to the girl I work with who realized that she had felt dizzy too, but dismissed it like I did.
Ugh. I have the tv on and they had a little news teaser about the earthquake. Some guy just said it "reminded him of 9/11". Um, does not compare, guy.
The guy probably wasn't comparing the two, more like "when it happened, the first thing I thought of was 9/11." In fairness, terrorist attacks are more expected here than earthquakes, so I'm not surprised that most people's first reaction was "omg it's a bomb!"
