I should have a Xander icon...

rebcake mentioned that she'd struggled with how Xander came to accept Spike in season 7. I thought that was interesting, because I always thought it made perfect sense, to the point where post-series fics that have Xander still being hostile to Spike are jarring to me. Aside from the obvious (Spike has a soul now), I think it's just one piece of a larger character arc for Xander.
So, yeah. Probably more than you ever wanted to hear from me about Xander. I know there are a lot of people who hate him some or all of the time, and while I can certainly see the low points (but then, who doesn't have flaws?), it's pretty cool to step back and look at the ebb and flow of his character.
