Well, I guess I can stop checking every day, then...

Looks like it will be six more weeks before inactive journals start getting purged. But yay! Drop-down tags! (It's the little things.)

In other news, my summer class is driving me really freakin' nuts. I think this year's Army fellows must be dumber than the last batch or something. Did they lower the entrance requirements for the program? Last year's guys were nice and intelligent and said interesting things in class. These fuckheads waste HOURS of class time by arguing with the professor over stuff that is obvious to the rest of the class - and refuse to let it go, even after being flat-out told they're wrong multiple times.

Dude, when your basis for economic theory comes from watching A Beautiful Mind, it's time to SHUT THE FUCK UP, mmmkay? You are clearly full of shit. No one is impressed.

And then the other dude whipped out the evo psych and I almost threw my notebook at him. I still don't even know how that was relevant to the conversation. I don't think the professor did, either, judging by his reaction, lol. (Fuckhead: "DNA... evolution... blah blah blah... and that's why we have grandmas and menopause." Everyone else: ".........")

My undergrad is in history, so I had to take a few political science classes as well. There was always this one guy who went off on tangents over EVERYTHING and was always trying (or so it seemed) to derail the lecture narrative so he could discuss/debate some point. At first I thought this guy must be brilliant if he could follow all the new info plus the crap he came up with on his own. Then we got our first test scores back and he was stymied (as evidenced by much grousing) to get a very low C. Apparently, tangents just don't work in a test over the facts and the basics. You have to actually learn the material. Go figure.
